Be a part of keeping the beauty! Volunteers are needed to help dead head the spent blooms of our church campus roses June 12-30. A weekly visit of an hour to an hour and a half is probably about all it takes to weed and trim. Our rose gardens don't get so pretty by themselves. Please help! Calling all knitters, crocheters and quilters! The Yarners could use your help - their goal is to make 35 lap quilts (30"X40") for seniors and to make 65 scarves for children who are residents at Tucson Metropolitan Ministries. Any colors and any donations of quilts and hats are welcome and can be dropped off at the TMM office.
Summer is here and our office hours will be adjusted. For June and July the church office will be open Monday thru Thursday 8am to noon.
First day of Vacation Bible School was a success! We learned about the faith of Daniel in the lions’ den, made beautiful wind chimes, did a science experiment, played games, learned songs and made lion snacks. Thank you volunteers!!

We proclaim that all people are created in God's image and are of sacred worth. We acknowledge that there are differences among us, but we believe that we should love alike even though we may not look alike or think alike. We know that more diverse and inclusive participation in our church enriches us. We invite all people to join us on our faith journey toward greater love, understanding and mutual respect.

DREAMING OUT LOUD At Catalina we are beginning a period of dreaming out loud together. We will continue this through the summer. These dreaming sessions will inform us as we move forward in this pivotal moment in The United Methodist Church. It is obvious that we will not continue to be the same UMC, and that we will soon live into the newness of a different kind of church. We will not tolerate or promote exclusion, for that is not the way of Jesus whom we follow. We will live out our lives as people who do our best to love as Christ loved. Catalina recently made a decision to become a Reconciling Ministry congregation, which is a statement out loud that we are open and inclusive to everyone. We have been living this out for quite some time, but now we made it official. This decision was made in response to the General Conference 2019, and our desire to let our community know we do not agree with the UMC. Because of this, we need to take this time of epochal change to dream out loud together. This dreaming out loud means that what we say is not secret, is not to be kept behind closed doors, and is open to all. Dreaming is a way we inform and form the change. It reminds us of what matters and what is no longer crucial. It gives space for all voices to be raised. I look forward to seeing and hearing from everyone as we dream together. And I encourage other groups of people to dream out loud. When we do this, the collective conscience rises up to be heard by those who meet in private settings. So, go ahead and dream out loud! And may God inform our heart’s desire. Pastor Dottie

In today's sermon, Pastor Jamie talks about the Nativity scene as described in the Bible. She talks about the coming of the Wise Men, and the star that appeared to herald the birth of the King of the Jews. Their journey was a long, arduous trek that took many months, and was of great cost. God guides our lives in a similar way, today. Not with a bright shining star, but with other guiding lights. Sometimes, in the darkness of life, we rely on these shining lights. And when we don't have the clarity or ability to see in the distance, we must trust in God and have faith in his plan. We must have faith that God's light is always there.
